Flood Information and Resources

Currently, many areas of Ohio are either experiencing flooding or have a forecast for flooding . The following resources may be helpful to you and your family.

Flood Map: The Ohio River Forecast Center out of the National Weather Service - http://www.erh.noaa.gov/er/ohrfc/ - features a flood map depicting current and forecasted flood conditions.
Flash Flood Map: This link - http://www.srh.noaa.gov/rfcshare/ffg.php?location=OH&zoom_map=state&duration=1 - provides the flash flooding information used to issues watches and warnings - You select the state and the time criteria you wish to view.
Weather Radio: This link - http://www.weather.gov/nwr/ - provides information on the NOAA Weather Radio - and this link - http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/nwrrcvr.htm - provides information about purchasing the receiver which is needed to hear the weather information.

County Emergency Management Agency Offices: Each County has an Emergency Management Agency Office - this link - http://eoc.ema.state.oh.us/OpsCenter/Contacts/OEMATelephoneDirectory/CountyDirectorList_web.aspx - provides the contact information for each County EMA Office throughout the state. Please contact your local EMA Office for up-to-the minute information pertaining to your county.

Top Stories: 2013 4-H Junior Camp is June 2-6

The Wayne County 4-H program is conducting a 5 day Junior Camp June 2-6, 2013 at 4-H Camp Ohio, near Utica. 4-H Camp is open to all youth in Wayne county ages 8 and in third grade through age 13, as of January 1, 2013. The 4-H Camp registration deadline is May 24.

State News: Ohio State Launches Ohio Scholarship Challenge

The Ohio State University has begun a new fund-raising campaign to support students from all 88 Ohio counties. The "Ohio Scholarship Challenge" seeks to raise $100 million in general undergraduate scholarship funds for Ohio State students at all campuses. This Challenge is also part of the university’s larger effort to raise $500 million in private funds for student financial aid and scholarships. The Ohio Scholarship Challenge honorary co-chairs are Ohio State head football Coach Urban Meyer and men’s basketball Coach Thad Matta.
