    Ohio State University Extension in Wayne County and Wayne Metropolitan Housing Authority have been sponsoring Home Ownership classes for more than 20 years.  During that time more than 500 families have participated in the program and approximately 200 have successfully become home owners. This program meets the requirements for the CHIP, Housing Choice Voucher Home Ownership and USDA Rural Development programs. Class Topics Include:

  5. Summer Forage Field Days

    Jul. 09, 2021 11:00am to 4:00pm

    Improving soil with multi-species grazing and accelerated lambing will be the theme of our first forage farm tour in Wayne County. The field day will begin at Lone Pine Pastures with Jeff & Michelle Ramseyer who raise Katahdin sheep, Shorthorn beef cattle, pastured hogs, meat goats, and custom graze stocker calves. Along with pasture management, scrapie eradication continues to be a topic of importance for American sheep and goat producers.

  7. Pressure Canner Testing

    Jul. 07, 2021 3:00pm to 6:00pm

    Wayne County Extension staff will be offering pressure canner testing for dial gauge canners at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Testing will be offered from 3:00 - 6:00 PM on May 5, June 9, and July 7. There will be a fee of $5.00 for the testing. Click here to schedule your appointment.
