Wayne County supports leasing of dairy heifers/cows for the purpose of teaching young people how to feed, fit, show and care for an animal. 

HOWEVER, visiting a calf/cow once or twice in August so that a youth can exhibit/compete at the county fair IS NOT something that can be supported. 

Please refer to the sample lease on the OSUE animal science web page for information on leasing http://4hansci.osu.edu.  Our office does not require these lease forms be turned into our office at this time, but it is expected that all animals be owned or leased and in continual care of the exhibitor by June 1, 2015.
