Dear 4-H Volunteers,
As you know the election for 4-H / Jr. Fair Action Committees (Beef, Building 10, Dairy, Dog, Goat, Horse, Poultry/Rabbit, Sheep, and Swine Commitees) and for district representatives to the Extension 4-H Advisory Committee has been underway throughout the month of October. However, due to some voting irregularities, we will be conducting a new balloting process to elect the representatives who will serve on these committees. We are taking this course of action to ensure that each approved Wayne County 4-H volunteer’s ballot is their own and accurately reflects their voting choices.
After consulting with the 4-H Advisory Committee President, Vice President, and Treasurer, the decision has been made to move to in-person voting for this year's election. The new balloting process will begin on Monday, November 7th, and will conclude on Tuesday, November 15th.
Only approved 2016 4-H advisors / volunteers may vote in this election. All such individuals who wish to cast their ballot must vote in-person at the Wayne County Extension Office during normal business hours (8am - 4:30 pm) between Mon., Nov. 7 and Tues. Nov. 15, 2016. Please note - the Extension Office is closed on Friday November 11th for observance of the Veteran's Day holiday. The final opportunity to vote will be in person at Fisher Auditorium from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 15th, prior to the start of the 4-H Recognition Banquet.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we want to ensure a fair and impartial election process. The Extension 4-H Advisory Committee will discuss and consider options for how we will conduct elections in the future at our next meeting on December 12th. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or e-mail.
Sincerely,
Douglas S. Foxx - Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development
