Wayne County 4-H members earning trips to the Ohio State Fair, along with other top project recipients, were honored during the recent 4-H Style Revue and Awards Ceremony at the Shisler Center on The Ohio State University-Wooster campus.

The 'Glitter, Sparkle, and Shine' program was presented by the Wayne County Food and Fashion Board. All members who participated in Early 4-H Project Judging on July 11 at the Wayne County Fair Event Center were invited to attend. Those earning outstanding honors were eligible for State Fair selections.

Chosen to attend State Fair Clothing Days were Chloe Beery, Sew Fun - Senior; Natalie Shold, Sew Fun - Junior; Morgan Laibe, Sundresses and Jumpers; Rylee Wirt, Terrific Tops; Acacia Smith, Clothing for Middle School; Lucy Acker, Sew for Others - Junior; Tessa Underwood, Ready, Set, Sew Active!; and Sadie Hinkle, Clothing for High School and College.

Also earning outstanding honors on their clothing projects were Kayleigh Molnar and Haven Smith, Sew Fun - Senior; Ruth Steiner, Caroline Raber, and Lena Kline, Sew Fun - Junior; and Katie Stoller, Sew For Others - Junior.

Receiving a pair of Gingher Shears for top construction honors were junior winner Lauren Lightfoot and senior winner Rylee Wirt. The scissors are made possible by an anonymous donor.

Others receiving construction award ribbons were Kayleigh Molnar, Lena Kline, Natalie Shold, Sarah Hagan, Morgan Laibe, Tessa Underwood and Margo Johnson.

Nominated for special state fair honors were Morgan Laibe, Rising Star Award; Rylee Wirt, Master Clothing Educator of Ohio Award, junior; Sadie Hinkle, Master Clothing Educator of Ohio Award, senior, and

Harbage Family Clothing Award. Selection of these awards at the state level is based on the 4-H'ers goals and aspirations as told through their 4-H story, overall outstanding achievement in 4-H clothing and leadership skills.

Representing Wayne County at the State Fair with miscellaneous Family and Consumer Sciences projects are Olivia Kozma, Cake Decorating - Beginning Junior; Makenna Stansfield, Cake Decorating - Intermediate Senior; Matt Fish, Cake Decorating - Senior; Blake Sigler, The Laundry Project; Zach George, Get Started in Art - Senior; Kaidis Porter, Second Year or More Scrapbooking; Malachi Smith, Makeover My Space - Senior; Addison Liston, Quilting the Best Better.

Also earning outstanding awards were Muira Stansfield, Ella Parthemore and Haiven Hatten, Cake Decorating - Beginning Junior.

Food and Nutrition 4-H project members selected to attend the State Fair were Avery Ostarchvic, Take A Break for Breakfast - Junior; Allison Gasser, Snack Attack! - Junior; Bethany Raifsnider, Let’s Start Cooking - Junior (attending as the alternate is Aubrey Liston); Joy Acker, Star Spangled Foods - Senior; Lexi Long - Yeast Breads on the Rise (attending as the alternate is Addison Liston); Joy Acker, Cooking On My Own; Ruth Finney, Let’s Bake Quick Breads; Logan Shold, Grill Master - Junior; and Anthony Long, Grill Master - Senior.

Also receiving outstanding awards for their food and nutrition projects were Olivia Erdman, Take A Break for Breakfast - Junior; Bethany Raifsnider, Declan Fish and Alayna Miller, Snack Attack! - Junior; Charis Smith, Let’s Start Cooking! - Junior; Malachi Smith, Cooking On My Own.

Additional outstanding awards went to Adam Raifsnider, Making The Cut - Junior; Luke Finney, Self-Determined - Junior; Haven Smith, First Aid In Action - Junior; Isaac Raifsnider, Arcs and Sparks; Elise Long, Photography Basics; and Ace Myers, Next Level Photography.

The Food and Fashion Board hosted a dessert reception prior to the program. Board members are Joy Acker, Jo Bailey, Kya Csapo, Olivia Haines, Lacy Ramsier, Malachi Smith, Braydan Springer, Makenna Stansfield and Rylee Wirt. Advisors are Kristen Davies and Abbie Lavy.
