Wayne County is in the process of updating its comprehensive land use plan, using the theme "Wayne Onward."  What is your vision for Wayne County in the next 20 years?  What kind of development should happen or should not happen?  The comprehensive land plan will serve as a guide for future development within the confines of the values, vision, and aspirations of Wayne County citizens and communities.

The Wayne County Commissioners are seeking input from the citizens of Wayne County to help guide the planning process.  All Wayne County citizens are invited to attend one of four workshops scheduled on the evenings of November 13 and November 15.  All workshops run from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  November 13 workshop locations are Schmid Hall, 501 Hall St, Orrville and Waynedale High School 9048 Dover Road, Apple Creek.  The November 15 workshop locations are Northwestern High School 7473 N. Elyria Road, West Salem and Triway High School 3205 Shreve Road, Wooster.

The four workshops are all identical in content and format so pick the location and date that work for you to attend.  The workshops are entitled "Focus on the Future" and will be interactive using small group work to gather thoughts and ideas.  More information about the comprehensive land plan is available on line at https://wayneonward.com/ or contact Trevor Hunt, Wayne County Planning Department Director at 330-287-5423.

I believe the development of this comprehensive plan is especially important for our agricultural community and hope that those involved in agricultural production turn out to make their voices heard.
