The OSU Department of Animal Science is offering a dairy labor management workshop on March 3 at the Twin Oak Dairy located at 14380 Charleston Chillicothe Road in South Solon, OH. The meeting is intended for farm owners and managers involved in the hiring, training, and/or supervision of dairy farm employees. The purpose of the meeting is to assist dairy farm owners and managers in:
- Hiring the most qualified people for the position
- Motivating and retaining current dairy farm employees
- Using tools to assist them in the management of the farm human resource program
Resource people include Dr. Bernie Erven, Professor Emeritus from the Ohio State University and Peggy Hall, from the OSU Extension Agriculture Law and Resources program.
Registration cost is $50 per person or $65 per farm and registration is due February 24. A program registration form can be obtained through the Wayne County Extension office (330-264-8722) or by contacting Dr. Maurice Eastridge in the Department of Animal Sciences at OSU at: 614-688-3059.\
