Schools are out and summer break is underway. Kids are ready to enjoy all that summer has to offer. As the temperature warms up everyone is looking for ways to cool down and what  better way to do so than with a refreshing popsicle.

I remember as a kid, my mom and grandma always had popsicles in the freezer. The flavors and varieties always changed but I would have to say my favorite flavor was orange.

It had been a few years since I had a popsicle until this past winter when I passed the freezer section at the grocery store. This sweet and refreshing treat reminded me of my childhood and all the wonderful memories that come with it.

As I enjoyed the last popsicle I found buried in my freezer, I started thinking about how I might be able to make my own at home. This simple and easy summer activity is great to do with kids, and they get to enjoy a sweet treat after all their hard work.

You’ll need a few supplies before you get started on your homemade popsicles.

First, you will need some type of mold for your popsicles. You can use items around your home like muffin tins, paper cups, or ice cube trays. You can also purchase popsicle molds that typically come with reusable popsicle sticks and come in a variety of different shapes and sizes.

Next, you will need a popsicle recipe that you and your family will enjoy. There are so many different recipes and flavor combinations to try. Some common ingredients include fruit, vegetables, coconut water, milk, yogurt, honey, and so much more.

I’m excited to try these pineapple mango popsicles this summer.

Pineapple Mango Popsicles

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to the blender. Blend until smooth
  2. Pour blend into molds, insert popsicle stick and freeze for at least 4 hours
  3. Run the mold under warm water for a few seconds to loosen popsicles from the mold
  4. Store the popsicles in a freezer safe container or bag to avoid getting freezer burnt
