The annual Northeast Ohio Regional Dairy Conference organized by the Killbuck Valley Veterinary Medical Association (KVVMA) is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20 at Fisher Auditorium and the Shisler Conference Center located on the OARDC campus in Wooster. The conference begins with registration and sign-in at 9:00 am. The program begins at 10:00 am and continues until adjournment at 3:30 pm.
The theme of this year’s conference revolves around management. The featured presenter is Mike Van Amburgh from the Cornell University Animal Science Department. Mike will provide three presentations throughout the day at the conference on the topic of calf management. His theme for the day is “Grow them well. Management tips from birth to weaning.” After lunch, Bill Weiss, Dairy Nutrition Researcher and Specialists with The Ohio State University on the OARDC campus at Wooster will present a very timely management topic entitled “Controlling Feed Costs”.
An important component of the conference are the exhibits and displays set up by the conference sponsors that represent all segments of the dairy industry. There is time throughout the day to visit with the sponsors and view the exhibits and displays. The organizing committee is grateful to the 2019 double platinum sponsor Elanco Animal Health for their contribution to and support of the conference.
Morning and afternoon refreshments as well as lunch is provided at the conference. There is no cost to attend the conference but reservations are required by February 13 for a lunch count. Lunch and refreshment costs are covered thanks to the generous sponsorships of the conference exhibitors.
