Our delayed planting season has set up late planted corn and soybeans to be at increased risk of feeding damage from black cutworm larvae, slugs and armyworms. If feeding damage is extensive, yield loss can result, and rescue treatments may be warranted. Scout fields on a regular basis to determine if any of these pests are present and the percentage of feeding damage. Click on the links below for Extension fact sheets that provide more information regarding a specific pest, including life cycle, scouting procedure and managment options.
