The 2019 Ohio Sheep Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 13. It will be held at the Jackson Agricultural Research Station located at 19 Standpipe Rd in Jackson Ohio. The day runs from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm and this year the program combines sheep production with hay equipment and hay making demonstrations. The cost is $15/person for Ohio Sheep Improvement Association (OSIA) members and $25/person for non-members. On Friday, July 12 there is a pre-Sheep Day forage tour sponsored by the Ohio Forage and Grassland Council. The tour begins in Jackson County and includes stops in Ross and Vinton Counties with a focus on visiting flock owners who are using managed grazing systems. The tour bus departs from the Red Roof Inn in Jackson at 9:00 am and returns to the Inn at 4:30 pm. The cost of the tour, which covers the bus fare and lunch is $20/person for OSIA members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited to the first 40 persons to register.
